Join the Polys as we celebrate the Christmas season!
We’ll be exploring the rich tradition of the Christmas carol, a musical form going back to mediaeval times but which has flourished over the centuries and is still going strong. As well as some old favourites, our programme includes some carols written by contemporary composers such as Judith Bingham and Colin Mawby. To commemorate the 150th anniversary of his birth, we will also be singing two Christmas works by Ralph Vaughan-Williams.
Directed by the Choir’s new conductor, Thomas Blunt, we’ll be singing carols in both English and in Welsh. And there’ll be opportunities to sing-along to some well-loved Christmas carols to help you get into the Christmas spirit!
The Choir is delighted to be joined for this concert by Emyr Wyn Jones (Baritone), Rosie Biss (Cello), and Aaron Shilson (Organ).
